The Flowering of the Spirit — Altars of Imbabura
An Encounter with the Ancestral Medicine of the Andes
February 5–10, 2027
AyaPuma Samay · Taita Imbabura · Ecuador
From February 5 to 10, 2027, the AyaPuma Samay Association will hold a six-day retreat dedicated to an encounter with Awakolla, the ancestral sacred cactus of the Andes, also known as San Pedro.
The retreat will take place in the territory of AyaPuma Samay, on the Imbabura Volcano, bringing together learning, ceremonial experience and a direct connection with the land. We will explore the gardens where the medicine grows, its cultivation and care, as well as the spiritual and ceremonial principles that accompany this path.

It is the time of Pawkar Raymi, an Andean celebration of flowering, renewal and gratitude to the Earth. In this spirit, the process invites us to recognize what is coming into bloom, renew our relationship with life and give thanks to the territory that sustains the gathering.
The journey will include:
• Offering walk
• Fire cleansings
• Temazcals
• Ceremonies
• Traditional Pawkar Raymi rituals
• Sharing circles
• Traditional music
• Guided integration
The retreat will be guided by Taita Santiago Andrade León, a yachay from Imbabura and a medicine man of the Sumak Kawsay tradition, as well as a leader of the Vision Quest and Sun Dance at AyaPuma Samay.
We will work with a small group to sustain a carefully held space and offer a closer relationship with the territory and with each participant’s individual process.
Limited spaces available.
